ETSU pitcher Brady Frederick, who was named the 2025 SoCon Pitcher of the Year, has entered the transfer portal, On3 has learned. He’s in with a do-not-contact tag.

In addition to being named the 2025 SoCon Pitcher of the Year, Frederick also made the SoCon All-Tournament Team and the All-SoCon First Team. He tossed 77.2 innings, amassing an 8-2 record with four saves and an era of 2.67.

As we know, a do-not-contact tag means Frederick has a destination in mind. Where that is remains to be seen. His hometown, however, is Knoxville, Tennessee. If it’s the Volunteers, it’d be a nice homecoming for the pitcher.

This past season, ETSU finished with a 41-17 record, which is the second-most wins in the history of the program. They also hit the most home runs ever by an ETSU team (121), had 12 All-SoCon selections, won both the SoCon Regular Season and Tournament Championships.

One of their more interesting accomplishments was securing a win over then-No. 1 Tennessee in mid-March. Frederick pitched 3.2 innings, allowing two hits, two earned runs and striking out four in the 7-6 win for the Buccaneers.

It was an incredible season for ETSU, with Frederick’s success a major highlight. The team made the Nashville Regional, but they were eliminated by Wright State, failing to advance out of the four-team mini-tournament.

Back on May 31, Frederick tossed 6.2 innings against Wright State, but he suffered a loss. He only allowed three runs, but his team fell by a score of 7-5 in the clash. That’ll now be the last time he took the mound for ETSU.

Brady Frederick helped ETSU have a historic season, and he’s leaving the program in better shape than he found it. Where he ends up next remains to be seen, but he’ll be hoping to have a similar impact wherever it is.
