FAU's Trey Beard enters the NCAA Transfer Portal

FAU’s Trey Beard has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal. That comes this morning per reporting by On3’s Pete Nakos.
Also, per Nakos, Beard has entered with a do-not-contact tag. That’ll restrict which teams could end up getting involved in his recruitment in the portal now that he’s in and available.
Beard just finished his sophomore season with the Owls. He has, in that time in Boca Raton, made 32 appearances, 30 of those being starts, and posted a record of 11-5. He, in 1c51.1 innings pitched, has posted an ERA of 4.16 while throwing 186 strikeouts
Beard improved his statistics from his freshman, although being a selection to the All-AAC Freshman Team, to his sophomore year with Florida Atlantic. His ERA went down to 3.14 while he went on throw 118 strikeouts, which earned him an honor as All-AAC First Team.

Beard is a native of Dunedin, Florida. He attended Dunedin High School as a member of the class of 2023.
With a do-not-contact tag, we’ll have to wait to see which programs are able to get involved with Beard. Whoever does, though, will be recruiting one of the better pitchers in the portal early on.
