4-star SF Alex Lloyd commits to Florida Gators
Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Westminster Academy four-star small forward Alex Lloyd has committed to Florida.
He chose the in-state Gators over the likes of Florida State, Miami, St. John’s and Dayton.
Lloyd is the No. 51 overall prospect and No. 13 SF in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 7 player in the Sunshine State.
The 6-foot-4, 160-pounder took his official visit with the Gators on April 15 and has now pledged to Todd Golden and Co. He is the first member of Florida’s 2025 class.

Last December, Lloyd was a top performer on two separate days at the City of Palms Classic. On3’s Joe Tipton wrote this of the new Florida pledge:
“Alex Lloyd had an eye opening performance for Westminster Academy (FL). The 6-foot-4 guard has elite scoring instincts. He has a confident stroke and can score it bunches. The 6-3 junior can really score the basketball and competes, on both sides of the ball. Makes the right play. Can shoot it and drive it and get to the rim.”
