Gatorade releases Florida-themed ad after Gators win national championship

Gatorade released a new Florida-themed ad in light of the Gators winning the national championship Monday night. It was a thrilling 65-63 win over Houston to conclude the season.
Gatorade dubbed the ad as “the winning formula” and boy does that sum it up. After being eliminated in the first round last season, Florida went all the way in 2025.
This is the third national title in program history. Florida won back to back titles in 2006 and ‘07. The championship ad can be seen below.
“It’s a heck of an accomplishment,” Florida head coach Todd Golden said postgame. “I’m super proud of everybody in my program, top to bottom. My staff, been together for three years, worked incredibly hard to help get our players to this point. Our players, they’ve been the difference all the way along. Been incredibly consistent all year. Have worked with a great work ethic.
“Obviously we have an incredibly talented group, one of the most talented groups individually in America. I do think what separates us and has separated us all season long is our team talent, how our guys have played together and for each other all year. Because of that, we can call each other national champions for the rest of our lives.”

At one point, Florida trailed by 12 but managed to rally and stay stout defensively on the final possession. It’s like Houston froze on the final possession coupled with the Gators locking down any type of Cougars offense.
“Yeah, I seen a lot going on,” Florida star Walter Clayton Jr. said of the final play, defending Emanuel Sharp. “Felt like we were going to get something from Cryer or Roberts. Sharp kind of creeped down to the baseline. I seen a back screen. I’m yelling back screen at Do. Sharp ended up slipping it, set elevator screens. We work on it in practice, closing out, jumping to the side so you don’t foul the shooter. He pump faked, threw the ball down, ended up being a good play, Do got on it. We won the game.
“The feeling, just surreal. It’s a crazy feeling. I can’t even explain it, but it feel good, though.”
Florida finished the season 36-4 beating Houston for the national title. Widely considered one of the best teams all season long, the Gators proved it in San Antonio.
