Miami Northwestern four-star wide receiver Andy Jean is heading to Florida.

The On300 recruit announced his commitment Saturday to the Gators, choosing the SEC East school over AlabamaGeorgiaMiami and Texas A&M

Jean was previously committed to the Hurricanes for about two months earlier this year.

“Florida’s a place that’s building,” Jean previously told Gators Online. “I want to go to a school that’s building, not a school already just has it all, you feel me? I want to help build and become a legend wherever I go.”

Jean is the No. 353 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 is the highest on Jean in the industry, ranking him at No. 170 in the 2023 On300 ranking.

“Andy Jean had a strong junior season at Miami Northwestern, highlighted by a two-touchdown performance against IMG Academy,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said earlier this year. “The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder is a crafty route-runner who uses double moves to win against top defensive backs. He also has long arms and the physical capabilities to present a large catch radius.”

Andy Jean joins a Florida class flush with wideout talent

Andy Jean is the fifth wideout commit in the 2023 Gators recruiting class after Orlando (Fla.) Boone four-star wide receiver Aidan Mizell, Tampa (Fla.) Gaither four-star wide receiver Eugene Wilson III, Gainesville (Fla.) F. W. Buchholz four-star wide receiver Creed Whittemore and Eustis (Fla.) three-star wide receiver Tyree Patterson.

Mizell and Wilson are the two top-rated On3 Consensus recruits in the class, which entered Saturday ranked 13th in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.

With Jean’s commitmet, the Gators have three of the top 25 wideouts in the 2023 On300.
