The recruitment of Findlay (Ohio) four-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery continues to ramp up, as multiple high-profile programs are competing to land the signal-caller.

This weekend, Montgomery is in Gainesville for his latest visit with Florida. The Gators made his top five schools and are pushing hard for the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder.

Last month, Florida head coach Billy Napier made his way to Ohio to visit Montgomery at his school. The four-star was previously in Gainesville in September, as he watched the Gators defeat Tennessee in The Swamp.

ā€œThe atmosphere was better than advertised,ā€ MontgomeryĀ toldĀ On3 after the UF-Tennessee game.Ā ā€œThe fans were just constantly screaming the whole time. It was insane.

ā€œI was able to stay around on Sunday and meet again with the staff. It went great. I was able to watch some film with coachĀ (Ryan) O’HaraĀ and coach (Gavin) Pruett and learn what they are teaching them.

Other SEC programs also at the top for Montgomery

Montgomery has already visited South Carolina and Georgia over the past couple of weekends. Both the Gamecocks and Bulldogs made their fair share of positive impressions on the QB and plan to be in the mix until the end.

ā€œI spent the most time with Coach Beamer, Coach Loggains and the strength staff. They all reiterated that I am the priority in the 2025 class,ā€ Montgomery told On3’s Chad Simmons about his visit to SC. ā€œI felt good [about South Carolina] after the visit. They are a top school for me and they have only gotten higher on my list.ā€

ā€œGeorgia is right there in the mix,ā€ he went on to say of the Bulldogs. ā€œThey are a top school for me and they have only gotten higher on the list after this visit. This visit was big for us. I have always been super interested in Georgia and think I could be a great fit.ā€

Montgomery’s top five also consisted of Michigan and Penn State. He is the No. 243 overall prospect and No. 19 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to theĀ On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in Ohio.

Florida’s 2025 recruiting class currently ranks No. 12 nationally with three commits: Tallahassee (Fla.) James Rickards four-star defensive linemanĀ Jalen Wiggins, Tampa Plant four-star running backĀ Waltez ClarkĀ and Atlanta Woodward Academy three-star wide receiverĀ Josiah Abdullah.
