On Sunday, controversy struck the NCAA Tournament. Florida and East Carolina were set to play their elimination game in the Conway Regional at 12:00 p.m. ET, but the game was pushed back an hour to just after 1:00 p.m. ET. That drew the ire of Florida head coach Kevin O’Sullivan.

The game was pushed back due to Saturday night’s game between ECU and Coastal Carolina running close to midnight. It’s safe to say that O’Sullivan was not a fan of that decision, and video has now emerged of O’Sullivan ripping into NCAA and Coastal Carolina officials prior to the game against ECU.

“For what? Because they played late?” O’Sullivan can be heard saying. “Big f***ing deal. One hour’s going to make a difference? … This is f***ing bulls***.”

East Carolina went on to win the game 11-4 over Florida, ending the Gators’ season. The Pirates went on to the Conway Regional championship, which they lost to Coastal Carolina on Sunday evening.

Following Coastal Carolina’s victory, advancing to Super Regionals, Chanticleers head coach Kevin Schnall made sure to bring up O’Sullivan’s antics and voiced his displeasure.

“One last thing I have is I have to say this and I don’t know if I’m supposed to say this or not,” Schnall said. “But I believe in standing up for what’s right, and what transpired this morning on our field, another coach disrespected our associate AD, who works as hard as anybody in our entire program. He disrespected our field crew, who are the salt of the earth. These guys would do anything for our program. It’s not OK. And this needs to be brought up.

“Absolutely disrespectful. As a coach it’s our job to mentor young kids. And the way he treated the two site reps, the way he treated our associate AD, the way he treated our field crew is absolutely unacceptable. And I’m really, that’s what I’m most disappointed about.”

All O’Sullivan said after Florida’s elimination was that he “handled it properly” after the game against ECU. Still, Schnall went on in his press conference to call O’Sullivan a bully.

“This is a national champion coach who thinks he can come in here and try to bully people around,” Schnall added. “Disappointed. Disappointed somebody that a lot of coaches look up to, for him to act that way, really disappointed. He disrespected a Hall of Fame coach who’s the site rep here. That’s all I’ve got to say.”
