Florida State DL Dante Anderson plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Florida State defensive lineman Dante Anderson plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.
Anderson is a redshirt sophomore who appeared in just one game in 2024, according to Florida State’s statistics. He recorded one quarterback hurry.
Anderson was a little more involved during the 2023 season, appearing in five games and recording nine tackles, including a tackle for a loss. He appeared in three games during the 2022 season, making his debut in a 44-14 win over Boston College. He took a redshirt for the 2022 season.
Prior to enrolling at Florida State, Anderson was ranked as a three-star prospect and the No. 450 overall recruit in the nation in the 2022 recruiting class. He also checked in as the No. 42 EDGE in the class and the No. 59 overall player in the state of Florida, hailing from Homestead (FL).

FSU WR Deuce Spann to enter transfer portal
Anderson is not the only Florida State player who has intentions of entering the NCAA transfer portal when it opens. Receiver Deuce Spann also entered his name into the portal.
On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed Spann’s entry into the portal.
Spann has spent the past three seasons with the Seminoles after starting his collegiate career with two years at Illinois. Overall, he has 15 receptions for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns. However, that production has fallen off the past two seasons after decent numbers as a redshirt freshman and redshirt sophomore.
10 of those catches for 92 yards have come in 20-plus games while with FSU in Tallahassee.
Spann, a native of Saint Petersburg, Florida, played high school football at Lakewood. He was formerly a quarterback in his prep career and was a three-star prospect as one. He was the No. 758 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as the No. 52 QB and the No. 105 overall player out of the state in that class.
On3’s Sam Gillenwater also contributed to this report.
