2025 5-star WR Jaime Ffrench visits Florida State
Schools are turning up the heat in their pursuit of Jacksonville Mandarin five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench following his decommitment from Alabama last weekend.
Kirby Smart, Mario Cristobal and Billy Napier have all visited with the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder over the past few days, while the likes of Colorado, USC and Oklahoma have all extended offers.
For the first time since he backed off his pledge to the Crimson Tide, Ffrench is taking a visit. He’s in Tallahassee for his latest trip to Florida State — one of the prime contenders for his pledge.
Ffrench has been vocal about his positive relationship with Mike Norvell and the Seminoles. His Mandarin teammate, three-star quarterback Tramell Jones, is already committed to FSU, adding another appealing layer to the in-state program.
“I love the way he recruits you, it’s hard to tell Florida State no, it’s hard to tell Coach Norvell no,” Ffrench told On3’s Sam Spiegelman earlier this month. “Tramell jokes around a lot and there’s a lot of Florida State stuff that we knick-knack about.”
“Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State … there’s a lot of eyes coming back around and doing a double-check,” Ffrench detailed. “There’s a lot of schools making their rounds back around.”
Ffrench has taken a plethora of visits to FSU, including trips in April and November last year. The Noles were already viewed as a top contender to flip the wideout at the end of 2023, but now that he’s officially back on the board, the path for Norvell and Co. to land Ffrench looks much clearer.

Ffrench also expected to visit Miami soon
Among other programs, Miami also expects to remain a major player in the race for Ffrench. The five-star is set to visit the Hurricanes next weekend as a part of a stacked Junior Day lineup in Coral Gables. He told CaneSport that Miami WRs coach Kevin Beard called him on Monday night and held a two-hour conversation with the top target.
“Miami, coach Beard, and coach (Mario) Cristobal have been on me a lot,” Ffrench told CaneSport. “I talked to coach Beard today (Monday) for a good hour or two. We’re on the phone for a while, and Miami hits me up very often. Miami’s definitely in (it) for sure.”
Ffrench is the No. 14 overall prospect and No. 3 WR in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Florida.
He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $138K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
