Jimbo Fisher tears up in emotional reaction to embrace from Florida State crowd on ACC Huddle

Former Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher had an emotional reaction on ACC Network Saturday as the pregame crew was live in Tallahassee. During ACC Huddle, Fisher was introduced to the Florida State fans and they gave him a loud ovation.
Having won a national title with FSU back in 2013, Fisher can be seen as sort of a program legend. While he didn’t reach the same success at Texas A&M, Fisher felt the Seminoles treated him and his family like one of their own.
You can see the reaction below. Fisher’s emotions might just bring a tear to your eye too.
“Brings tears to my eyes,” Fisher said. “Memories of your family growing up here, that chant, something to it. Players, memories, it’s Miami week!”
No. 18 Florida State (3-1) takes on No. 3 Miami (4-0) at home at 7:30 p.m. ET. It’s one of the bigger rivalries in college football.
Fisher went 7-1 against Miami during his time at Florida State. His lone loss came during his final season in 2017, prior to his tenure at Texas A&M.
Fisher was 83-23 during his time in Tallahassee. He won three straight ACC titles from 2012-14 and won the 2013 BCS National Championship Game, finishing the season 14-0.
Fisher also led Florida State to the first even College Football Playoff during the 2014 season. However, the Seminoles fell to Oregon at the Rose Bowl in the semifinals.

While his days at FSU’s head coach didn’t end on great terms, the fanbase seems to have welcomed him back fondly. Fisher resigned as Florida State head coach on December 1st, 2017 and signed a 10-year, $75 million deal to become Texas A&M’s head coach.
Fisher went 45-25 in six seasons as he was fired after a 6-4 record during his final season in 2023. He led the team to three straight bowl wins to start, but never topped nine wins despite the investment into his contract and the program.
The 2020 season was memorable considering the 9-1 record and No. 4 final ranking. However, since Texas A&M lost 52-24 to Alabama early on the season, they did not make the College Football Playoff, but won the Orange Bowl over North Carolina.
Fisher has a 128-48 overall record as a college head coach. It remains to be seen if he’ll return to the sidelines, but he seems to be enjoying his current role as an analyst for the ACC Network.
