Florida State has followed a 3-0 start to their season with an 0-3 stretch in conference play, which all but ends any early hopes they suddenly had about the postseason, whether making either the ACC Championship or the CFP. With that, Mike Norvell can’t blame anyone for being unhappy in Tallahassee because he is too when it comes to the Seminoles’ recent play.

After a 34-31 loss to Pittsburgh in front of Doak Campbell on Saturday, Norvell gave a message to their fans at FSU. He understood the way that they felt because it’s how he feels as well with the ‘Noles on that three-game losing streak. He full knows that his team has to get it fixed too now that they’re back to .500, including being winless in the ACC.

“I mean, you should be frustrated with the results. We’ve lost three straight games. I’m frustrated with the results,” said Norvell. “And, you know, ultimately, we’ve got to get it fixed. We’ve got to go make it better, and, you know, show the potential of what this team is, you know, on a consistent basis.”

“You know, there’s been a lot of work and investment and, you know, push with this team. And, we got to get the job done, and that’s what it comes down to,” Norvell said.

Again, after three games in the non-conference, specifically a win over No. 8 Alabama, Florida State had seemingly completely moved on from what happened last season. However, over three games in league play, the Seminoles have dropped all of them by one possession with a 46-38 outcome in double overtime at Virginia, a six-point result to No. 3 Miami, and now this three-point loss to Pitt. Frustrations have mounted over that span the past three weeks, and certainly so yesterday after losing a back-and-forth matchup, with the road team coming back in the second half and fourth quarter, to the Panthers.

Norvell doesn’t need to know where things stand with his fanbase with how their season has turned. He’s as bothered, and more bothered really, than anyone else, with his job now being to turn his team back around again.

“But, yeah. There’s every bit of frustration,” said Norvell. “There’s no fan that’s out that’s more frustrated than I am.”

“But, yeah, I understand their frustrations, and, you know, we’re going to get it fixed and we’re going to get it right,” Norvell said.
