He chose the Seminoles while also holding offers from the likes of Florida, Miami, Ohio State and Georgia.
Charles is the No. 127 overall prospect and No. 9 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 19 player in Florida.
On3 ranks Charles higher than other recruiting services. He checks in at No. 58 overall and No. 4 among defensive linemen in the 2025 On300.

While all the in-state schools battled for Charles’ pledge, it was ultimately Mike Norvell and his staff that won over the 6-foot-5, 260-pounder. Defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins led FSU’s charge for Charles.
“I definitely expect this program to be huge in the upcoming years,” Charles said. “We’ve been talking for a while. Me and Odell, we have a nice relationship building up. Seems like a really honest man — tells it like he sees it.”
