5-star LB Justin Williams locks in official visit with Georgia

Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge five-star linebacker Justin Williams has locked in an official visit with the Georgia Bulldogs. He’ll head to Athens for the visit on June 23.

Williams is the No. 12 overall prospect and No. 1 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in Texas.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Oregon is the heavy favorite to land a commitment from the 6-foot-1.5, 205-pounder. The Ducks’ chances sit at 97.9%.

Williams told ScoopDuck in April that he plans on committing sometime during the summer after he’s taken his official visits. In that same interview he noted that Alabama and Texas are also trending for official visits.

He recently told On3’s Sam Spiegelman that the Bulldogs were near the top of his list alongside the likes of Alabama, Oregon and Texas. After months of talking with Georgia’s coaches, he took his first visit to the school on May 20.

“I trust them,” Williams told Spiegelman regarding the Bulldogs coaching staff. “It’s all about the trust aspect. I feel like they wouldn’t do me wrong. The coaches at Georgia and I talk a lot and I feel good about them.”

Georgia currently boasts the No. 1 class in the country for the 2024 recruiting cycle after landing the No. 2 class during the 2023 cycle.

They currently have 16 pledges including two from a pair of five-star prospects. Those two prospects are quarterback Dylan Raiola and cornerback Ellis Robinson IV.
