On3 4-star WR Amari Jefferson sets Georgia visit

Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School four-star wide receiver Amari Jefferson is returning to Georgia this weekend. He announced the visit Thursday over Twitter.
Jefferson is the No. 429 overall prospect and No. 71 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 9 player in Tennessee.
On3 rates Jefferson higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 263 overall prospect, No. 43 wide receiver and No. 4 player in Tennessee.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound wideout last visited Athens on the weekend of Nov. 5. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Georgia has a close lead for his commitment at 25.6%.
“Georgia has been one of my top schools throughout the process and they’re going to continue to be one of the top schools in my process,” Jefferson told On3’s Jeremy Johnson on March 2. “I can see them being at the top until the end. I don’t see that changing. They’ll be in that final decision and have a chance.”
Jefferson, who originally planned to visit the Bulldogs last week, speaks weekly with wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon. He feels like Georgia is recruiting him like a top target.
“I’m talking to Georgia a lot,” Jefferson said. “I’ve been there a couple of times and I have a great relationship with the staff and I’m excited to continue to build my relationship with them,” Jefferson said. “I love going down to Athens every time and I can’t wait to get back.”

The Bulldogs are not the only program trying to land the talented wideout. Jefferson recently visited Alabama and Clemson and holds an offer from the Crimson Tide.
Jefferson told On3’s Chad Simmons that he is visiting Tennessee (March 25) and Colorado (April 8-9) in the upcoming weeks. He has an idea of which programs are leading for his pledge.
“I’ll say Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama, Clemson, Oregon, I’d say those are the top schools right now,” Jefferson said on Feb. 28. “But that list can change soon, just depending on my visits and more offers I get.”
Regarding the Tigers, Jefferson is hoping to land an offer from Clemson. He shared that wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham “has a lot of interest in me.”
“He told me that’s how they recruit and so, I’m just being patient with them and they’re being patient with me,” Jefferson said. “They’re gonna start getting on the phone with my parents and hopefully, when I go up there on the 1st, we can make some progress and maybe get an offer or maybe see how things are going. I’m really excited to continue to grow my relationship with them.”
