Georgia announces co-DC Glenn Schumann's salary boosts to $1.9 million annually
Georgia is fresh off the backs of two consecutive national championships. What head coach Kirby Smart has built in Athens is incredible and a lot of praise has to be thrown at his coordinators. While Todd Monken is off to the NFL, co-defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann has worked magic alongside Will Muschamp.
Now, Schumann is getting a reward via a salary increase. Georgia announced the co-DC will now receive $1.9 million on an annual basis. Schumann has been around the program since Smart took over, joining him from the Alabama staff before the 2016 season.
Speaking of Alabama — Schumann was in the midst of rumors surrounding the Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator search. He wound up deciding to remain with Georgia and continue on the great run. Nick Saban had to settle elsewhere, bringing another former assistant back home in Kevin Steele.
Schumann’s decision to stay with the Bulldogs is now paying off, becoming one of the highest-paid assistants in all of college football.
In four seasons as the co-defensive coordinator, Georgia has seen the unit turn into one of the best in college football. Smart has relied on this defense over the past two seasons and the dividends have paid off in a big way. Keeping Schumann around is a massive win for the program moving forward, even at such a high price.

Georgia announces salary of offensive coordinator Mike Bobo
As mentioned, Monken is off to the NFL and Georgia found itself in need of an offensive coordinator. While an internal hire was made, Mike Bobo still has plenty of experience calling plays in the SEC. He will be the next man up for the Bulldogs, taking over beginning this spring.
Bobo will be making nearly half of what his defensive counterpart makes but it’s still a solid salary. Georgia will pay the OC $1 million for the 2023 season. In what should be a season of offensive transition in Athens, Bobo has been tasked with the job.
Prior to Georgia, Bobo was the head coach of Colorado State before being let go. He then spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons as the OC of South Carolina and Auburn, respectively. Bobo was an offensive analyst for UGA in 2022.
Stetson Bennett is no longer around to lead the program, exhausting all of his eligibility in fantastic fashion. Bobo will be in the center of a quarterback battle, needing to name one prior to the Sept. 2 season opener against UT-Martin.
