Georgia lands 4-star speedster Dwight Phillips, Jr.

Dwight Phillips was impressive at Georgia’s camp last summer and picked up an offer. His 4.2 speed in the 40-yard dash made him a hot commodity on the recruiting trail and since the Bulldogs offered, he was a top priority.
After visiting numerous times in 2022 and back again on Saturday, Phillips has committed to Georgia.
The 5-foot-11, 167-pound four-star is listed as an athlete, but Georgia targeted him as a running back. Dell McGee has led the way in Phillips’ recruitment. The No. 82 prospect in the On3 Consensus likes whats McGee and the in-state program does with players at his position.

“They produce running backs and they win national championships,” Phillips told On3 in a previous interview. “I’m trying to go to the league one day.”
Phillips is the son of Olympian Dwight Phillips Sr. The elder Phillips won the gold medal in the long jump in the 2004 Athens, Greece Olympics. The younger Phillips is a 7A state champion in the 100-meter dash. He clocked a 10.43 in the finals.
Phillips’ had around 40 offers and his commitment gives Georgia nine in the 2024 class. They are No. 2 in the Team Rankings.
