Georgia pitcher Kolten Smith is looking for a change of scenery. The Bulldogs pitcher has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Smith spent the past three seasons with Georgia. The Ocala, Florida native accumulated a record of 16-9 with a 5.44 ERA over that time. He’s struck out 184 batters, while appearing in 46 games.

As for this past season, Smith went 5-3 with a 5.36 ERA. He notched a win over No. 1 Arkansas at the time, showing he can get it done versus the top teams in the nation.

Where he ends up in 2026 remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, Kolten Smith will be hoping to improve upon his solid numbers, and become a top-flight pitcher for whichever team he lands with after the Bulldogs.

More on the Georgia Bulldogs

Everything considered, this was a successful year for Georgia. The Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 43-17 and 18-12 against SEC opponents. Not much noise was made in the SEC Tournament due to an early loss to the Oklahoma Sooners in Hoover.

However, the overall goal was to advance in the NCAA Tournament for the second time in as many years. Potentially going back to Omaha would be a massive plus too, a place Georgia has not visited to compete since 2008.

Unfortunately, the home fans in Athens saw their team eliminated before the Regional Final. Duke beat Georgia in the 1-0 game before Oklahoma State advanced in an elimination game. Two straight losses for the Bulldogs sent them into the offseason.

All focus has since switched to loading up to make another run in 2026. This will be far from the final addition for Georgia, needing to keep up with their conference foes. At some point, you have to feel as if Wes Johnson will break through and get UGA back to the College World Series.
