Police report reveals new details on arrest of Georgia players Dontrell Glover, Bo Walker
Details emerged from the police report regarding Georgia football players Dontrell Glover and Bo Walker and their shoplifting arrests. According to Marc Weiszer of The Athens Banner-Herald, Glover and Walker were stopped after trying to walk out of a Walmart in Athens on December 12.
They attempted to walk out with stolen paper towels, paper plates and Febreeze air freshener products, according to the police report. The items were valued at approximately $100.
“The players initially refused to go into the store’s loss prevention office at 4375 Lexington Road after the incident, which occurred at about 4:29 p.m,” Weiszer wrote. “One of the players attempted to go back in before running out the front entrance before returning, the report says … Walker and Glover identified themselves as Georgia players and stated they did not intend to steal the merchandise.”
Weiszer also provided direct quotes from the police report involving the two Georgia players. There was a potential “losing track of items.”
“…they must have lost track of what items has been scanned between the two,” the report stated. “Loss prevention took inventory of the recovered merchandise and decided to press charges for shoplifting based on the total amount that Dontrell and Boden (Walker’s full first name) attempted to walk out of the store with (approximately $100 total.) Walker and Glover had 13 items that were listed as recovered/stolen from the incident.”

Both have since bonded out on $1,500 bonds, per Athens-Clarke County online records. Walker was booked at 5:30 pm ET, while Glover was booked at 5:55 pm ET. Both were released roughly two hours later shortly before 8 pm ET, per online records.
“We were informed of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information,” Georgia deputy athletic director Steven Drummond told the Athens Banner-Herald in a statement. “This is a pending legal matter and and we will not have further comment at this time.”
Glover, who has started the last 11 games for No. 3 Georgia (12-1), is an All-SEC Freshman selection, announced earlier this week, while Walker has rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns in a reserve role this season. Walker reportedly missed last weekend’s SEC Championship game vs. Alabama after undergoing surgery for an alleged auto accident.
As SEC Champions, the third-seeded Bulldogs don’t play again until Jan. 1 in the Sugar Bowl, a College Football Playoff quarterfinal, where they await the winner between No. 6 Ole Miss (11-1) and No. 11 Tulane (11-2), whose first-round Playoff game kicks off at 3:30 pm ET, Dec. 20 in Oxford.
