Georgia is less than seven weeks away from kicking off the season in Athens against Marshall on August 30th. When they do, the Bulldogs’ call on the radio broadcast will have a new, yet familiar, voice in the booth.

Ahead of SEC Media Days this week in Atlanta, Georgia released their media guide for the upcoming season. That featured the inclusion of Josh Brock as the new color analyst next to Scott Howard doing play-by-play for the Georgia Bulldog Radio Network, with Brock taking the place of another alumni in Eric Zeier. This comes per Marc Weiszer at the Athens Banner-Herald on Sunday evening.

Brock played on the offensive line for the ‘Dawgs from 2002 through 2005 in the program’s early seasons under Mark Richt. Georgia went 44-9 during his career spent in the program, including a pair of SEC Championships in 2002 and 2005 and four appearances in bowl games with a win and a loss in the Sugar Bowl in ’02 and ’05 plus wins in the Capital One Bowl in 2003 and the Outback Bowl in 2004. However, with some injuries in his career, Brock would be medically disqualified, with a third concussion suffered, in September of 2005.

Since then, Brock has become a financial advisor in Cartersville, Georgia. He also has radio on his resumé as part of the call-in show titled ‘Bulldogs Live’, a postgame radio show titled ‘Dawg Talk’, and ‘Countdown to Kickoff’ as a sideline reporter for Cartersville High School.

Zeier, a former quarterback and one of the all-time passers for the program from under Ray Goff in the early 90s, had been on the radio for 17 years starting back in 2007. However, he, per the program, had decided to step away from doing color to be with his family, with him being absent from G-Day back in April.

Howard has passed nearly three decades as the play-by-play man for Georgia Football and is about to reach three decades on the call for Georgia Basketball. DJ Shockley, another alumni who played at quarterback over the same four-year span as Brock, is then the sideline reporter for the fifth season.

Muschamp no longer listed as part of Georgia staff

It doesn’t appear as if Will Muschamp will be coaching for Georgia in 2025. He is not listed as part of the coaching staff in the team’s preseason media guide, with Mark Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald being the first to report.

Muschamp served as a full-time staff member at Georgia for three seasons from 2021 to 2023. The Bulldogs went 42-2 during that stretch, winning back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022.

Muschamp was the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach in 2021 season. After originally being hired as a senior defensive analyst, he replaced Scott Cochran, who left the team due to his own personal issues. When Dan Lanning left to become the head coach at Oregon, Georgia promoted Glenn Schumann and Will Muschamp to co-defensive coordinators. Schumann handled play-calling duties while Muschamp worked with the safety/star positions. Muschamp returned to Georgia in 2023 in the same role, once again working with Fran Brown in the Bulldog secondary.

Muschamp took on a smaller role the following season. With his son, Whit, headed to Vanderbilt to play quarterback, Muschamp transitioned into an analyst role. This position allowed him to work with the team during the week, Monday through Thursday, while spending Saturdays with his family to support his son at Commodore games.
