Todd Gurley weighs in on what he thinks of Georgia's season so far

Georgia has a huge game on Saturday as the Bulldogs are facing Texas in Austin in a battle of top 5 teams. Former Georgia star running back Todd Gurley joined Paul Finebaum on Thursday to preview the matchup and discuss UGA’s season thus far.
Georgia enters Saturday’s game with a 5-1 (3-1) record after falling to Alabama in Tuscaloosa a few weeks back. Overall, the Bulldogs haven’t been as dominant this season as they were in recent years, but Gurley remains optimistic about the rest of the year.
“I mean, it’s not what we’re used to seeing the last couple of years, obviously, with the defense being so dominant and last week letting Mississippi State score 31 on us,” Todd Gurley said. “So that was tough. But a win is a win. We’ve got to get better each week.”
Georgia fell behind big against Alabama in the first half, before battling all the way back to take the lead late. In the end, the Crimson Tide came out on top, but the performance by Georgia was still encouraging, according to Gurley.

The next step for UGA is playing well from start to finish.
“Obviously I think we learned a lot about ourselves from that Alabama game, even though we didn’t win,” Todd Gurley said. “But we went in a hostile environment and almost came back. But I think that will help us prepare for [Saturday] in Austin.”
The Longhorns are currently ranked No. 1 and are unbeaten on the season, which is their first in the SEC. Todd Gurley would love to see Georgia hand Texas its first SEC loss on Saturday.
“Obviously it’s their first year in the SEC. They’re excited. We’re excited. Hopefully we can welcome those guys to the SEC and get them a L,” Gurley said. “But it’s not the end of the world. Obviously on offense we lost one of the best players in Georgia history in Brock Bowers. Haven’t really gotten the running game going too much. But there’s a lot of football left. As long as we keep stacking up and getting these wins, that’s really all that matters.”
