Bobby Mooney is now a second general Yellow Jacket
Bobby Mooney’s father was former Georgia Tech offensive lineman Mike Mooney.
Mooney played for the Yellow Jackets in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including starting at tackle during the 1990 and 1991 seasons.
The 1990 team is a legendary one on the Flats. The team finishes 11-0-1, won Georgia Tech’s first ACC championship and claimed the national championship after finishing No. 1 in the coaches poll.
Mooney was named All-ACC first team in 1991. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 1992 NFL Draft.
