2025 4-star OT Nicolai Brooks decommits from Iowa

Cedar Rapids (Iowa) John F. Kennedy four-star offensive tackle Nicolai Brooks has decommitted from Iowa, he announced on Tuesday.
He had previously been committed to the Hawkeyes since Sept. 7, when he chose them over Alabama, Florida State, Georgia and Tennessee.
Brooks is the No. 222 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 16 offensive tackle and the No. 1 recruit in Iowa.

“After talking with my family I will be decommitting from the University of Iowa,” Brooks wrote on Twitter. “My recruitment is still open 100%.”
With Brooks’ defection, Iowa is down to two commitments in its 2025 class: Joey VanWetzinga and Burke Gautcher.
