WATCH: Caitlin Clark lifts Iowa past Indiana with buzzer-beating 3-pointer

With just over a second remaining and her team trailing by two against Indiana on Sunday, Iowa guard Caitlin Clark let it fly from 3-point range. The shot rattled through the basket as the buzzer sounded, helping the No. 6 Hawkeyes escape with an 86-85 against the No. 2 Hoosiers in the final game of the regular season.
Clark ran toward the crowd after her shot fell through and her teammates followed, surrounding her as they celebrated together. She finished the game with a team-high 34 points (12-22 FG) and nearly had a triple-double with nine rebounds and nine assists as well.
The win for the Hawkeyes came on Senior Day. Fifth-year senior Monika Czinano finished with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Kate Martin chipped in 19 points.
It was a back-and-forth game throughout, with nine lead changes over the entirety. Iowa finished 11-of-28 (39.3%) on its 3-point attempts and 30-of-58 (51.7%) from the floor overall.

The buzzer-beater was another big moment for Clark, who has been one of the best players in women’s college basketball this season. She leads the country with 8.1 assists per game, is third with 27 points per game and also averaging seven rebounds.
Behind Caitlin Clark, Iowa has been one of the country’s top teams as well. The win helps them finish the regular season with a 23-6 (15-3 Big Ten) to finish tied with Maryland for second in the conference. The Hawkeyes were a three-seed according to ESPN’s latest bracketology projections, but this win seems like it could bump them up.
Before Selection Sunday, however, they’ll head to Minneapolis for the Big Ten Tournament, which begins on Wednesday.
