Caitlin Clark looks back on her favorite moments at Iowa

Caitlin Clark created so many memorable moments throughout her college basketball career, it’s hard to pick one that stands above the rest. From the logo 3-pointer to become women’s basketball’s all-time leading scorer against Michigan to a buzzer-beater against Indiana as a junior, Clark’s highlights are endless.
Clark played her final game in an Iowa jersey on Sunday in the national championship, falling 87-75 to South Carolina. She joined SportsCenter just two days later, where she was asked if she had a favorite moment throughout her four seasons with the Hawkeyes.

“That’s tough,” Clark said. “There’s so many. Gosh, you can go back to like even my freshman year when we beat Kentucky to advance to the Sweet 16. A lot of people at the time never thought Iowa women’s basketball would be there in that moment. And obviously I was a freshman and our team was super young. Indiana buzzer-beater my junior year, winning the Big Ten regular-season title my sophomore year.
“Three Big Ten tournament championships in a row. Two Final Fours, back-to-back national title game appearances. Obviously beating South Carolina was huge for our program, too. There’s so many moments, it’s hard to pick out.”
Clark’s run through the NCAA Tournament as a junior was one of the greatest in the history of college basketball. She recorded the first 40-point triple-double in March Madness history in the Elite Eight against Louisville to lead Iowa to its second Final Four appearance ever.
She followed that up by scoring 41 points against South Carolina in the next game to as the Hawkeyes reached the national title game for the first time.

Clark leaves college basketball after breaking a long list of records, including becoming the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer regardless of gender. However, she ended her answer with a reminder that it was much more than the achievements on the court she will cherish.
Clark helped grow the game of women’s college basketball, which saw record viewership this past season, even surpassing the men’s game. She got to not only play for her hometown team, but lead them to heights which they had never been.
Although her numbers are certainly earth-shattering, Clark’s impact on the game goes far beyond that, a fact she is well-aware of.
“I think like even I appreciate all the moments in between, not even the on-court stuff,” she said. “Whether it was interacting with young fans, whether it was the goofy moments with my teammates in the locker room. All of those are what I’ll cherish for forever.”
