The University of Iowa and John Deere have extended their partnership, the school announced on Thursday evening. As a result, a John Deere logo will now appear on Duke Slater Field at Kinnick Stadium. Iowa is just the latest program to put a company’s logo on the field, joining plenty of others across power conference football.

“We are incredibly grateful for John Deere’s continued support of the University of Iowa and our athletics program,” Iowa athletic director Beth Goetz said in a statement. “This partnership brings together two national brands with deep roots in the state of Iowa. We are excited to build on that momentum and look forward to a long-term relationship.”

“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with University of Iowa Athletics,” John Deere Vice President of Global Brand and Communications Mara Downing said. “With factories and facilities located across the state, this collaboration allows us to celebrate our Iowa roots and acknowledge our dedicated employees, dealers and valued customers—those in the farming and construction industries who we all rely on every day.”

According to the statement, the partnership goes beyond athletic events. Iowa and John Deere are also working together to create academic initiatives and programs across campus. The likes of scholarships, internships, and research opportunities are being provided by John Deere.

“We are excited to highlight an iconic brand that is the perfect fit for Iowa Athletics and proudly display the John Deere logo on the field at home football games and other events at Kinnick Stadium,” Vice President and General Manager of Hawkeye Sports Properties Gabe Aguirre said.

John Deere logo to feature at Kinnick Stadium for Iowa

Fans will not have to wait too long before getting a first look at the new John Deere logo. Three home games remain for the Hawkeyes in the 2025 season, beginning on Saturday when the Minnesota Golden Gophers come to town. A bye week then takes place before a likely top-10 opponent comes to Kinnick Stadium in the form of the Oregon Ducks. Nov. 22 vs. the Michigan State Spartans will close out opportunities to play in front of the home crowd.

Iowa currently finds itself with a 5-2 overall record and winners of two straight. The Hawkeyes are 3-1 in Big Ten play, joining seven teams with the exact same conference record. Results at this stage of the season go a long way in determining who winds up in Indianapolis.
