Iowa wrestling transfer Jordan Williams is facing multiple charges for an alleged altercation that took place on on June 14. According to the Des Moines Register’s Eli McKown, he was charged for assault and public intoxication.

The incident reportedly occurred at the Reunion Brewery in Iowa City, where he was also given a citation for trespassing. Per a court affidavit, Williams was asked to leave the property by security after an incident with a woman. Williams allegedly did not leave when asked and is being accused of “shoving” the security guard.

Williams committed to Iowa last month from the transfer portal after a successful stint at Little Rock. He finished just shy of All-American status at the 2025 NCAA Championships.

However, an Iowa spokesperson told Des Moines Register in a statement that Williams is not yet an official member of the team. Therefore, the program cannot comment on the matter. A trial date regarding the incident is set for Sept. 10.

Before his long season at Little Rock, Williams spent two years wrestling for Oklahoma State and has a career record of 37-15, but was dismissed from the team prior to this season. He was dismissed from the Cowboys program in August 2024 following an arrest for alleged public intoxication and malicious injury to property. The incident stemmed from alleged damage caused to a windshield of a golf cart.

He would go on to transfer to Little Rock, where he wrestled this past season. Along with teammate Nasir Bailey, the pair announced their transfer to the Hawkeyes program in May.

Bailey was an All-American in 2024, the first in Little Rock program history and Williams had just came in this year from Oklahoma State. Bailey was knocked off early in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, finishing in the round of 16, while Williams made the Blood Round, at 133 and 149 pounds respectively. Both have two years of eligibility remaining.

Interestingly, Bailey has already signed with the program. The two parties put pen to paper on June 5. It’s unclear what the hold up is regarding Williams status with the program. Moreover, it’s unclear how the alleged incident will impact Williams’ future with the Hawkeyes program.
