Seydou Traore throws down monster dunk vs. Minnesota
Iowa forward Seydou Traore brought the house down Tuesday evening at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in a games against Minnesota. With the Hawkeyes trailing by six late in the first half and needing a momentum play, Traore delivered with a massive dunk.
He received a pass from teammate Owen Freeman, setting him up perfectly as the defense rotated over to contest his shot. It was too late though, as Traore put the Golden Gophers defender on a poster. You can view the play below.
The play seemed to spark Iowa somewhat, as it got the lead down to two points with 21 seconds remaining in the half. However, Minnesota scored a late bucket to make it a 32-28 lead for the Golden Gophers heading into the break.
Seydou Traore is in his first season with Iowa after transferring from Manhattan College. The basket was his second of the game so far as he has four points and three rebounds.
Ultimately, the 6-foot-7 forward would finish the game with 11 points and six boards off the bench. He is averaging 5.8 points across 15.1 minutes per game thus far on the year.

Iowa vs Minnesota delay: Hawkeyes cheerleader stretchered off following scary fall
An Iowa cheerleader had to be stretchered off the court after a scary fall in Tuesday evening’s game against Minnesota. The cheerleader landed on his neck while attempting to make a tumbling pass during a timeout and needed medical assistance.
The fall caused the game to be delayed momentarily while he received attention for his injuries. Thankfully, the Big Ten Network broadcast reported that he was moving his arms and responding to questions from medics.
The man gave a thumbs up and waved to the crowd as he was taken out of the arena. That’s a positive sign for his status, and hopefully more good news is to follow.
Play resumed with 2:42 left in the game following what was around a 10-minute delay.
Iowa trailed by 16 points with just six minutes remaining but rallied back to make it a three-point game with 30 seconds remaining. The Hawkeyes had a chance to tie things up but missed the potential game-tying 3-pointer as Minnesota would go on to a 72-67 win.
