Athletic South Florida 2026 DB Javan Allison commits to Jacksonville State

The Gamecocks of Jacksonville State landed an athletic defensive back from South Florida for its 2026 class. On Sunday evening, three-star hybrid defensive back Javan Allison from Miami Norland High School made his commitment to JSU despite interest from Clemson, NC State, Mississippi State, and Bryant.
“I chose JSU because of the amazing opportunities they offer both on and off the field,” Allison said. “The Gamecocks’ family atmosphere and commitment to developing well-rounded individuals really resonated with me. As for why now, I felt like this was the right time to take the next step in my football journey and education. JSU’s got a great program, and I believe it’s the perfect fit for me to grow and succeed.”
Allison, at 6-foot-one and 170 pounds, is the fifth prospect from Florida to commit to Jacksonville State’s 2026 recruiting class. Defensive backs coach Rohan Gaines, who was hired ahead of the 2025 season, helped bring Allison to the Gamecocks’ class.
“Coach Rohan Gaines was instrumental in my recruitment. He took the time to get to know me, understand my goals, and showed genuine interest in my development as a player and person. After getting to know him as a coach, I feel like they’ve got my back. I’m excited to work with them and see what we can achieve together!”

Allison can play safety, cornerback, and nickel, but intends to play primarily safety for his senior season in 2025. The Miami defensive back has great football instincts and excellent range in the secondary.
JSU has the fourth-ranked class in Conference USA behind FIU, Western Kentucky, and Liberty.
