2025 Kansas Football Win Totals: Odds released for anticipated season

The Kansas Jayhawks football team’s win total has been set at 7.5 for the upcoming 2025 season. This comes following the program’s 5-7 record in 2024.
Kansas success is largely expected to be based on the play of quarterback Jalon Daniels, who is set to return to for his sixth season of college football in 2025. That’s a big deal for the Jayhawks, as during his five years in Lawrence with the Jayhawks, Daniels has thrown for 6,751 total passing yards and 45 touchdowns.
His return comes as he currently ranks second in all-time passing yardage in Jayhawks football history, behind Todd Reesing. Daniels also owns the record for the most passing yards for a single game in KU program history (Arkansas–Liberty Bowl–2022 (544 passing yards). His 45 passing touchdowns for his career also rank second in program history behind Reesing (90 total touchdowns).
This season, Daniels completed 57.0% of his passes for 2,454 passing yards, while tossing in 14 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. As a runner, he had 93 carries for 447 rushing yards and six touchdowns. While the Jayhawks struggled during the first half of the season, Kansas won four of their last six down the stretch. They’ll hope to ride that momentum into the 2025 season.
One hurdle that has gotten in the way of Daniels preperation for the 2025 season comes in the form of an injury. This offseason, Daniels had surgery on his knee. Though, it was reportedly a minor procedure and has limited throughout spring practice.

“He’s starting to do a few things,” Kansas head coach Lance Leipold said during spring training. “We’re able to get him out there in some controlled situations. He’s on a throwing program right now and we’ll continue to see what little bits we can implement him down the stretch, but progressing in every way that he’s supposed to be.”
Injuries have been an issue for Daniels throughout his career. The 12 games he played in during 2024 were the most of his career. He’d previously failed to play in more than nine games in a season. In 2023, he was held to just three games of action. In the past, that included injuries to his back and shoulder. He seemed to still be dealing with issues early in 2024, before improving later in the season as he got more comfortable.
Whether he’s healthy enough to play through the 2025 season remains to be seen. Kansas kicks off its 2025 regular season at home against Fresno State.
