Belmont pitcher Will Pryor commits to transfer to Kentucky

Former Belmont pitcher Will Pryor has committed to Kentucky out of the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on social media Thursday. Pryor will have two years of eligibility remaining to play for Nick Mingione and company.
Pryor has two years of experience on the mound for Belmont, totaling 140.1 innings pitched with 146 strikeouts to go along with a 4.94 ERA. He has logged 36 appearances including 20 starts.
“God is so good! I am blessed and beyond excited to announce that I’m continuing my college career at the University of Kentucky,” Pryor wrote. “I want to thank the coaches for this amazing opportunity and my whole support system that’s helped me through this process. I am fired up to be a part of Big Blue Nation! Go Cats!”
In 2025, Pryor logged a 7.56 ERA in 25.0 innings with 26 strikeouts. He features a four-seam fastball that tops out at 95 mph and also works in a splitter, curveball and a slider into his arsenal.
With a ton of college experience under his belt, it’ll be interesting to see where Mingione slots the crafty right-hander. He joins a Kentucky pitching staff that finished with a 4.54 ERA after 57 games.

Kentucky finished the 2025 season with a 31-26 record, including a 13-17 mark against SEC competition. The Wildcats were one of the last teams to make the NCAA Tournament field. Their season came to an untimely end after making the final series in the Clemson Regional.
This came after the Wildcats enjoyed the most successful season in program history and finding their way to Omaha for the first time. Head coach Nick Mingione and the Wildcats finished with a 46-16 record and were considered one of the favorites to win it all in 2024.
While that didn’t pan out, it set the standard for what the UK baseball program can be. While they didn’t live up to that expectation in 2025, Kentucky is working to get back.
