CB Andrew Purcell commits to Kentucky

Enterprise (Ala.) three-star cornerback Andrew Purcell was back at Kentucky this weekend for his official visit and before the visit ended, he committed to the Wildcats.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder chose Kentucky over Georgia and Miami.
“I like everything about Kentucky,” Purcell told On3. “The culture, the people and the coaching staff. Those were big reasons why I committed to Kentucky.”
After successful official visits to Athens and Coral Gables, Purcell still had high interest in the Wildcats. He had yet to visit Lexington, so the official visit over the weekend is really what pushed him to his commitment.
“This visit was really big for me because it determined who I was going to commit to. I really liked it the first day. On the second day at Kentucky, they really set the bar for me. The vibe and environment was perfect.”

Purcell is the 9th commitment for Kentucky this cycle. He likes the staff in Lexington. The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder has relationships and confidence in them.
“Coach Chris Collins is the coach I have the best relationship with and we are very close. Now that I am committed, I hope our bond gets even closer.
“Coach Mark Stoops is building his program. He got it started and it’s on now.”
Purcell is a versatile defensive back, but he expects to play outside cornerback and nickel at Kentucky.
