Philadelphia St. Joseph’s three-star running back Isaiah West has committed to Kentucky.

He chose the Wildcats over Wisconsin, Nebraska, and North Carolina.

West is the No. 704 overall prospect and No. 59 RB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 19 player in Pennsylvania.

West made his way to Lexington in February and has also set a pair of return trips, including an official visit, which is set for June 7. He’s already seen all he needed to pull the trigger on a pledge to Mark Stoops, Jay Boulware and the Cats, however.

“I feel like I can fit into just about any offense,” West told KSR’s Jacob Polacheck earlier this week. “I pride myself on being a three-down back, being able to do just about everything. When I got to sit down and watch film with Coach Boulware, he was breaking down how Ray [Davis] really had a great year this year. I feel like I could fit in very well.”

Cats add another piece to 2025 recruiting class

West is now set to follow wide receiver David Washington Jr., his former St. Joseph’s teammate who signed with UK in December. The tailback is now the third addition to Stoops’ 2025 pledge list, which also features Cincinnati Withrow four-star WR Quintin Simmons and Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt three-star quarterback Stone Saunders.

Kentucky has become a bit of a running back haven, with Ray Davis being the latest example in the 2023 season. The Wildcats also signed a pair of RBs in December in Sneads (Fla.) three-star Jason Patterson and Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Western three-star Tovani Mizell.

In total, UK signed 23 prospects, compiling the No. 25 recruiting class in the 2024 cycle, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The class includes five top-300 prospects, headlined by Austintown (Ohio) Westerville North four-star EDGE Brian Robinson.

Stoops and his staff also protected home turf in the last cycle, as they signed the top five players in Kentucky, including Corbin High twin brothers — four-star DL Jerod Smith and four-star EDGE Jacob Smith — as well Hodgenville Lexington Christian Academy four-star QB Cutter Boley.
