Kentucky assistant Jason Hart calls out online claims of a 'chaotic' locker room for Wildcats
The past three weeks have not gone well for Kentucky, with the Wildcats now being 3-2 already having lost their first two big games against Louisville and Michigan State while being down as much as 20 and 24 respectively in those primetime matchups against the Cardinals and Spartans. That has caused concern this week, and, with that, rumors to run through Lexington, with it reaching a point where an assistant has now had to address them at UK.
Jason Hart took to social media on Wednesday night to respond to one of those online rumors. He said any reporting on a bad locker room at Kentucky are “false” and that some are unfortunately “making things up” about what’s going on with the Wildcats.
“I don’t normally respond, but chaotic in locker room is false,” Hart posted last night. “Ur making things up which is unfortunate.”
Again, nothing has even been officially reported as to anything actually going on behind the scenes at Kentucky – besides, of course, Mark Pope repeatedly hinting at an unknown instance of some kind that took place pregame last week before playing the Cards. It’s all just speculation at this point, as Big Blue Nation tries to justify what’s going on with their top-ten ranked team in the preseason, which, according to reporting, cost what it did, that has already lost two major games before they’re even out of the month of November.

Besides three wins against overmatched teams as part of the BBN United Tipoff Classic, Kentucky has lost both of their other games in embarrassing fashions in their rivalry versus Louisville (96-88) and against Michigan State (83-66) in the Champions Classic. Beyond the struggles of individual players, even with the injury issues already for them this season, the Wildcats just haven’t been good on either side of the court, as the Cardinals and Spartans posted an average of 89.5 points and shot at 47.4% from the field and 38.7% from three, while the Wildcats averaged 77 points and shot at 41.6% overall and 29.7 from deep. A lot of this then really started since the loss on Tuesday night in Madison Square Garden, with a sideline report noting that players were “barking at each other” out of frustration during a second half timeout that had to be calmed by Pope.
Something has not been right so far about the Wildcats. Hart, though, went ahead and dismissed what he could of any ideas that it’s due to something off the court or within the program.
