Kentucky football unveils uniform combination for Week 2 matchup vs. Eastern Kentucky

The Kentucky Wildcats took care of business like they were expected to in their season opener against Ball State, rolling to a 44-14 beatdown of the Cardinals. They’ll look to move to 2-0 after facing the Eastern Kentucky Colonels this weekend. The Wildcats unveiled their uniform combination on Twitter on Thursday evening in a video.
Check them out.
It’s a pretty nice combination of blue and white on the uniforms, and the blue chrome UK on the side of the helmets is a nice touch as well. Last week the Wildcats wore their blue helmets, blue jerseys, and white pants. They switched it up a bit for Week 2, switching out the blue helmets for the white ones.
Here’s a few more picture of the uniforms below.
Last week fans got their first glimpse of transfer quarterback Devin Leary, who came in from N.C. State. Leary completed 18 of 31 passes for 241 yards, while tossing one touchdown and one interception. Kentucky got a great performance from running back Ray Davis, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries. Before joining the Wildcats this year, he ran for over 1,000 yards last season for the Vanderbilt Commodores.
The Wildcats also got yet another exceptional performance from their superstar kick returner, Barion Brown. Brown not only hauled in three catches for 39 receiving yards, but he also had a 99-yard kick return for a touchdown.
He quickly established himself as one of the most electrifying players in college football last year. Brown earned freshman All-American honors in 2022 from On3’s Charles Power. He was ranked as the No. 88 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2022 cycle and Brown certainly lived up to that billing and then some. Every time his hands touch the football, pull up a seat.

Defensively, the Wildcats got a big-time performance from linebacker Trevin Wallace against Ball State. He racked up 12 tackles.
On special teams, Kentucky has to feel great after their kicker position after the first week. Alex Raynor drilled all three field goals from at least 40 yards. He also nailed five extra point attempts. He transferred to UK from Georgia Southern.
Kentucky and Eastern Washington are set to play on Saturday. Kickoff for that one is slated for 3:00 PM EST. After Week 2, the Wildcats will begin preparing for SEC play, where they’ll open up with the Vanderbilt Commodores on Sept. 23.
