Kentucky LHP Adam Hachman enters NCAA transfer portal

According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Kentucky left-handed pitcher Adam Hachman has entered the NCAA transfer portal. Hachman wound up spending just one season with the program after beginning his career at Arkansas. This will be his second time going through the process and third school in as many years.
Hachman did not appear for Arkansas during his true freshman season, taking a redshirt. The same is true during his time at Kentucky. The pitcher did not take the mound during the 2025 season, and while he was on the team, no playing time was provided.
“Hurt that arm senior year in high school,” Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn said of Hachman back in June 2024 before entering the transfer portal and landing at Kentucky. “Really hard thrower, needs to be a pitcher, needs to be able to pitch.”
Teams will still be interested in Hachman due to the potential he possesses. He was the No. 53 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class according to Perfect Game. Only seven left-handed pitchers were ranked higher and nobody inside the state of Missouri.
Kentucky thought they could be the one to unlock Hachman, even if the project took some time. Instead, the pitcher is once again on the move.

More on Kentucky 2025 season under head coach Nick Mingione
A year removed from making the College World Series for the first time in program history, Kentucky aimed to get back to Omaha. Head coach Nick Mingione put together another squad worthy of competing in the SEC and once there, the NCAA Tournament. Unfortunately, the Wildcats fell just short of the ultimate goal.
Kentucky finished four games under. 500 in SEC play but still performed well enough during the nonconference portion of the schedule to be an at-large team. They were sent out to Clemson for one of the tougher regionals produced by the selection committee.
Beating Clemson in an elimination game meant UK played in the Regional Final against West Virginia. Two wins were going to be required but only one game was played. A good run for Mingione’s club, even if there was no advancement.
Another run will be made for the 2026 season in Lexington. Roster turnover is going to happen across the country, not just at Kentucky. Mingione will lose plenty of players such as Hachman but will be prepared to once again add talent through the transfer portal.
