Report: Kentucky STUNT team member Laken Snelling drops out of school after criminal charges filed in child's death

Kentucky student Laken Snelling, who was charged in connection to the death of her newborn baby, has reportedly withdrawn from school, according to a report from the Lexington Herald Leader. A school spokesman confirmed the news.
Snelling, who was a member of the Kentucky STUNT team, faces criminal charges in connection with the infant’s death. She was arrested after officers found a baby in a trash bag in the closet of her home on Aug. 27.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene. More has emerged since, though an autopsy proved inconclusive initially.
Laken Snelling has pleaded not guilty to charges of abuse of a corpse, concealing the birth of an infant and tampering with physical evidence. She was released on $100,000 bond and is staying at her parents’ home in Tennessee, according to TMZ.
Questions about the autopsy added further intrigue to the case involving Laken Snelling recently. The results were inconclusive, leaving investigators with further questions about how the infant died.
A report from the Fayette County Coroner’s office showed that the baby boy died on August 27th. However, it added that “extensive microscopic analyses are essential to determine the cause and manner of death.”
With that, the investigation remains open. That includes looking into the cause of death for the infant.

Once a cause of death can be established, further investigations into how that occurred can more easily be handled. It could also potentially lead to further charges in the case.
More importantly, it would help lead to answers regarding what happened and why it happened. The investigation could also help lead to information on whether or not anyone else was involved in the situation, which is currently unknown.
The infant was reportedly found inside a black trash bag and wrapped in a towel within Laken Snelling’s closet. She is also, reportedly, the mother of the infant. It is also unclear if she has currently retained a lawyer regarding the incident.
“Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Snelling told officers she was the child’s mother and ‘admitted to concealing the birth by cleaning any evidence, placing all cleaning items used inside of a black trash bag, including the infant, who was wrapped in a towel,’” the report read. “Snelling was booked at the Fayette County Detention Center and she reportedly posted $100,000 bond and is on home incarceration with no ankle monitor.”
