Laken Snelling, a member of the Kentucky Wildcats STUNT team, was arrested over the weekend and charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, and concealing the birth of an infant. This comes after a dead infant was allegedly found in her closet. Now, the autopsy reports are in for that infant.

Reportedly, the autopsy has been completed. However, they’re inconclusive, leaving investigators with further questions about how the infant died.

A report from the Fayette County Coroner’s office showed that the baby boy died on August 27th. However, it added that “extensive microscopic analyses are essential to determine the cause and manner of death.” With that, the investigation remains open. That includes looking into the cause of death for the infant.

Once a cause of death can be established, further investigations into how that occurred can more easily be handled. It could also potentially lead to further charges in the case. More importantly, it would help lead to answers regarding what happened and why it happened. The investigation could also help lead to information on whether or not anyone else was involved in the situation, which is currently unknown.

The infant was reportedly found inside a black trash bag and wrapped in a towel within Snelling’s closet. She is also, reportedly, the mother of the infant. It is also unclear if she has currently retained a lawyer regarding the incident.

“Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Snelling told officers she was the child’s mother and ‘admitted to concealing the birth by cleaning any evidence, placing all cleaning items used inside of a black trash bag, including the infant, who was wrapped in a towel,’” the report read. “Snelling was booked at the Fayette County Detention Center and she reportedly posted $100,000 bond and is on home incarceration with no ankle monitor.”

Laken Snelling is a 21-year-old STUNT performer at Kentucky. Now a junior, she’s a native of White Pine, Tennessee. She also remains listed on the STUNT roster at Kentucky.

Police say they went to Snelling’s house after receiving a tip about the situation. There, Snelling reportedly was willing to speak to police officers. It’s also been reported that she allegedly tried to conceal evidence of the birth, which helped lead to the current situation.

Snelling has since been able to post her $100,000 bond and has returned home to her parents’ house in Tennessee on home incarceration. She currently does not have an ankle monitor.
