The Louisville Cardinals suffered a serious scare on Saturday night in their ACC clash with the Clemson Tigers in Clemson, South Carolina. Louisville linebacker Benajmin Perry was taken by an ambulance to a local hospital, according to a report from Kris Budden, the sideline reporter for ESPN. During the game, she gave two different updates on the status of Perry.
“Welcome back Louisville defensive back Benjamin Perry who was injured in the first quarter. Was just taken off on a stretcher and then onto the medical cart. He’s being taken right now into an ambulance where they will take him to a local hospital. There’s no exact information from the school on what the injury is. When he came off on a stretcher, he was wearing a neck brace and strapped in. He was alert and talking. As soon as I get more information, I’ll let you guys know,” Budden explained.
Then later in the first half, she gave another update on Perry’s status.
“Injured Louisville defensive back Benjamin Perry has been loaded up into an ambulance, where he will go to Greenville, South Carolina to have an MRI. I also watched as he was able to talk to his mom on the phone as he sat here. She sat here and was able to talk to him before he left,” Budden finished.
