Jeff Brohm reacts to Louisville ball boy going viral for dust up with Pittsburgh players

Jeff Brohm was quite proud of Louisville ball boy Zephian Wade going viral for fighting for a ball back during the game against Pitt over the weekend. Louisville was actually losing at the time of the incident, so maybe Wade sparked them to the 34-27 win!
Wade fought for the ball after a Rasheem Biles pick-six as he took a Miller Moss pass 75 yards back, much to the delight of the Panthers’ fanbase. But as he was celebrating and wanted to pass the ball off, the Louisville ball boy was trying to get the football back and it was a total tussle.
Eventually, the ball made its way into the stands, but it seemed to be chaos. Brohm went on to say he appreciated Wade and all of the off-the-field members of the football team.
“I did not know it was going on until the after the game. I’m like you guys, it was enjoyable to see someone fight for our ball back, even though we gave it to him for a touchdown,” Brohm said. “Especially with the energy and enthusiasm he had. And you know what? He’s tough, too. So I think he may have heard some of our talks, and watched our team play, and he wanted to win as much as any of us, and he’s been with us for a long time now.
“And all those guys play a role, and they’re fun to be around. And all those ball guys and equipment guys love football, and they wish they were out there on the field. So he definitely, you know, stood up for the Cards, and we’re proud of him.”

Moss shook off the pick six and Louisville outscored Pitt 17-0 in the second half after facing a 27-17 deficit. He finished the game 33-of-51 for 339 yards, three touchdowns, one interception and a rushing score.
Safe to say, Brohm’s crew earned a huge road win to improve to 4-0 on the season. The Cardinals, who are receiving votes (36) in the AP Poll, will host No. 24 Virginia at 3:30 p.m. ET this weekend.
“Of course, who you play and their record and all that, and how you finished the year before; all that factors into it,” Brohm said. “And, it is what it is. I think that in the end, for us, we’ll be judged by how we do at the end of the season. And there’ll be some judgment passed in between then, which is normal, common, and ok. But you’ve got to play to the end, not just the game but the end of the season. You have to be able to handle wins and losses.
“You look at the national champions from last year, they had 2 losses. So yes, you don’t want to lose and you’re going to work hard to not let it happen, but if it does, you got to be able to circle the wagons and improve and dig down deep and find a way to win the next one.”
