This offseason, Louisville Cardinals head coach Jeff Brohm hit the transfer portal and landed Miller Moss, an experienced quarterback from USC. With one season of eligibility remaining, Moss has plenty of experience, some of which Louisville was on the receiving end of in the 2023 Holiday Bowl.

For Moss, the Holiday Bowl was a massive game, helping to cement himself at USC as the quarterback going into 2024. For Brohm and Louisville, it’s a bad memory now. It’s a bad memory that Jeff Brohm joked about during the 2025 ACC Football Kickoff, explaining that Moss’ girlfriend actually teased him about that game after his recruitment.

“It [the bowl] was a bad memory that you bring up,” Jeff Brohm said. “It was funny. His girlfriend, who is a very attractive young lady, they’ve been dating for a while, came in for the Derby week. We kind of were at the track together, and she brought up the game and how he played and how great he played. I finally said, ‘You know what? We were so terrible that game. Any bum could’ve completed those passes.'”

In that Holiday Bowl, Miller Moss led USC to a 42-28 win over Louisville. He did that on the back of a dominant passing performance. Moss finished the game having completed 23 of 33 passes for 372 yards and six touchdowns with an interception.

“But that said, he did. He had a great game against us,” Brohm said. “I’m glad he’s on our team.”

Miller Moss would play in nine games during the 2024 season for USC. He’d complete 64.4 percent of passes for 2,555 yards and 18 touchdowns to nine interceptions. He also would rush for two touchdowns during the season. He would be benched late in the season, following a loss to Washington.

While at USC, Miller Moss was coached by Lincoln Riley, often considered a quarterback guru. Now, he’s at Louisville being coached by another quarterback guru in Jeff Brohm. The hope is that he can build on his strengths and put together a season that will allow Louisville to compete for an ACC Championship.

David Pollack predicts Miller Moss as the top ACC transfer in 2025

Analyst David Pollack is very high on Miller Moss ahead of the 2025 season. He even expects him to be atop the transfers going into the ACC for the upcoming season.

“This is easy to me. I think Beck is going to kill it [at Miami], but if you’re watching college football, and if you’ve watched Louisville and if you’ve watched Jeff Brohm, he’s a freaking superstar. The way he coaches the game, the way he feels the game, the way he can use misdirection, the way he can use pro-style concepts with spread concepts. Take any quarterback — and I mean any quarterback — I think he could win with any quarterback in this league. And, I just think, with him, with their running back who’s on my fantasy team [that] I think is going to absolutely destroy it [in 2025],” Pollack said.

“Miller Moss also showed me some swag last year, man. Like, he showed me, because he got the shiznik kicked out of him. That dude got absolutely destroyed. That offensive line was very un-good for USC. I think Miller Moss is going to come in and absolutely tear it up at Louisville.”
