Louisville defensive back Cam’Ron Kelly declares for 2024 NFL Draft

The Louisville Cardinals defensive back Cam’Ron Kelly has made a decision about his future at the institution. On Tuesday, Kelly announced that he will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.
The super senior safety also attached this letter thanking the Louisville program, his teammates, coaches, and most importantly, the fans.
“Thank you, Louisville, this year has been nothing but a blessing,” said Kelly. “Being in the Ville man, words can’t even describe the experience. This is a home I will never forget. I’m forever grateful for my coaches, teammates, and the Louisville community… Card Nation you will forever be dear to my heart, you ignited a spark within me that will stay lit for eternity.
“With that being said, I will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft.”
While Kelly has been a fixture in the ACC conference during his collegiate football career, this is his only season with the Cardinals. His first four years were spent in North Carolina as a Tar Heel.
During his lone season at Louisville, Kelly played and started in all 13 games, recording 69 tackles, 31 solo, and five tackles for loss, with two passes defended and forcing four turnovers, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Overall, his collegiate career ends with just shy of 250 total tackles, nine passes defended, seven interceptions, and four forced fumbles. Kelly is considered to be one of the top safety prospects in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.

Players will have the opportunity to solidify their draft stock at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana from February 26 through March 4.
The three-day event will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on ESPN and NFL Network.
To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years removed from their final year of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. Underclassmen are able to request league approval to become eligible for the draft, as are players who have graduated prior to using up all of their collegiate eligibility.
Last season, 69 players were granted special eligibility for the 2023 NFL Draft. 13 underclassmen who had completed their college degrees were also deemed eligible to be selected.
The deadline to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft is on January 15. NFL teams will receive a full list of eligible players in the class on January 19.
