Louisville DH Nate Earley enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Louisville DH Nate Earley has entered the Transfer Portal. That is confirmed via On3’s Pete Nakos.
Earley was a 2023 All-Southern Conference Second Team selection and 2024 All-Southern Conference First Team selection at Florida Southwestern prior to transferring to Louisville for the 2025 season. The Cincinnati, OH native played in just 32 games this season, hitting for a .250 average with three doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI.
Earley committed to Ohio State out of high school, but transferred to Florida Southwestern after spending the fall of his freshman year with the Buckeyes. In two seasons with the Buccaneers, Earley played in 98 games and hit for a .314 average with 23 doubles, 19 home runs, 85 RBI, a .420 OBP and a .566 SLG%.
Earley and Louisville made run to College World Series
After back-to-back sub-40 win seasons for the first time in the Dan McDonnell era at Louisville (excluding the 2020 COVID-19 season), the Cardinals bounced back with a 40-22 record this season. They finished inside the Men’s College World Series Final Four.

“It’s been a long journey, ups and downs,” star center fielder Eddie King Jr. said following Louisville‘s season-ending 10-3 loss to Coastal Carolina. “We started off pretty good. We went through bumps in the road. But I think we just did well as a team. We always fought back. I know we surprised a lot of people, but we always knew we had it in us. We just brought it out at the right time. I think this team is just so resilient, just the things that we did all year, even guys fighting injuries, like Alex [Alicea], [Garret] Pike, it just goes to show this group is really special. And we just have a lot of talent, and we proved it this year.”
The Cardinals stunned the college baseball world in the Nashville Regional, as No. 1 overall seed Vanderbilt was quickly eliminated by Louisville and Wright State. It marked the first time ever that a No. 1 overall seed has failed to advance in their Regional. McDonnell’s team finished off Wright State to set up a Louisville Super Regional matchup against ACC foe Miami, which it won in three games.
Louisville lost the opening game of the Men’s College World Series to Oregon State. The Cardinals bounced back with wins over Arizona and the Beavers before falling to the Chanticleers.
