4-star safety Bryce Fitzgerald commits to Miami

Miami (Fla.) Columbus four-star safety Bryce Fitzgerald is staying home.
Fitzgerald committed to the local Miami Hurricanes on Saturday, choosing them over Florida, Florida State and LSU.
He took two official visits in June, to Florida and Miami, but it was the Seminoles who were the biggest threat down the stretch. However, the connections of head coach Mario Cristobal and assistant Alex Mirabal were key factors for Miami. As was Fitzgerald’s relationship with defensive backs coach Chevin Jackson, who he spent a majority of time with on his official visit.
“I like how he coaches,” Fitzgerald told CaneSport. “He teaches it to the players, he demonstrates it himself, and then he makes us do it. So him being a hands-on teacher, I like that.”
