Carson Beck squashes any concerns he is still uneasy with Miami's offense

An elbow injury coming in has limited Miami QB Carson Beck since his arrival in Coral Gables. Still, with how much football he has played in his life, including five at the college level, and nearly sevens month now with his new team following his portal commitment, he isn’t at all worried about having this next offense down.
Beck addressed where he is with the Hurricanes’ offense under OC Shannon Dawson while speaking to the media this past week at fall camp for The ‘U. He said that it’s coming naturally to him at this point both because of his past experiences and because of the work they did to prepare him over the offseason despite not being able to throw in it.
“Nah. I mean, it’s – football is football at the end of the day,” said Beck.
“I’ve been in this offense since January, right. And, even in January when I was sitting out here and couldn’t even bend or straighten out my elbow or fully bend it, we were walking up and down this indoor field going through the plays, envisioning everything,” said Beck.
With a UCL injury coming out of his final game with Georgia in the SEC Championship, Beck was going to be restricted regardless this offseason as he rehabbed that elbow. His transfer to Miami only complicated that as he needed to learn a new offense, and prepare to play with a different unit and different weapons, without being able to play in it through the spring and into the summer.

Still, Beck has five years of collegiate snaps under his belt, specifically the past two as the Bulldogs’ starter where he posted 68.6% completion for 275.0 yards per game with 52 total passing touchdowns and 18 interceptions when throwing. Entering his sixth year, Beck should be more than capable of comprehending this offense, which has improved over each of the past three years to the point of leading the nation in scoring last fall at 43.9 points and 537.2 yards of total offense per game being led by QB Cam Ward.
There will be some adjustment for Beck as he retakes the field during this camp. He just has no concerns about doing what he’ll need to do as he prepares over this month going into the season.
“The offense is second nature to me at this point. I’ve played a lot of football,” said Beck. “And, I don’t know. Just kind of go out there, be loose, and, Coach calls the plays, I run it, you know what I’m saying.”
