Class of 2024 LB Vincent Shavers commits to Miami

Class of 2024 linebacker Vincent Shavers of Miami Gardens (FL) Central High announced his commitment to Miami Friday night.
The 6-foot-1, 200 pounder chose the Hurricanes over Rutgers and Maryland.
Multiple factors weighed into his decision to ultimately choose the Hurricanes, however, his relationship with his position coach stood out.
“The coaches, specifically the new defensive coordinator and the linebacker coach,” Shavers said. “I am close with coach DNic (Derek Nicholson). We have a really good bond and he was saying he sees a bright future with me, and that I will be a great man with him.
The Sunshine State linebacker joins coach Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes’ top 30 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson, three-star safety Isaiah Thomas, and others.
