Class of 2026 WR Malachi Toney commits to Miami

Class of 2026 wide receiver Malachi Toney of Fort Lauderdale (FL) American Heritage High announced his commitment to Miami Tuesday night.
The 5-foot-10, 175 pounder chose the Hurricanes over Ohio State, Florida State, and Alabama.
“What stood out for me was coach KB,” Toney said. “He’s a great coach and ever since he was there, he made sure he built a relationship with me.”
His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him played a key role in his decision as well.
“I’m really close with everyone on the staff from coach Cooney, coach Varner, coach Cristobal, and coach Smith. It just feels great to be able to stay home. Also, they plan on moving me all over the field and in the return game… “You are explosive and dynamic. We are gonna find multiple ways of getting the ball in your hands!! The biggest thing for us is enhancing your game by developing you into a total WR.” That’s what coach KB told me.”
