Michigan State transfer defensive lineman Simeon Barrow is visiting Miami today, per On3’s Pete Nakos. Fellow MSU defensive lineman Derrick Harmon was also initially expected to visit Miami, but canceled his visit after making stops at USC and Colorado.

Barrow has spent all four seasons of his college career with the Spartans, redshirting as a freshman before becoming a three-year letter winner for the program. Barrow has made appearances in 34 games with 30 starts, tallying 110 career tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks, two blocked field goals, one pass break-up, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Barrow has been an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection in the past two seasons for the Spartans, ranking No. 24 on Michigan State’s career sacks list and No. 15 on career sacks yards list with -92 in his career.

Simeon Barrow played high school football at Grovetown (GA) where he was a three-star recruit. He was ranked the No. 783 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 59 EDGE from the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

LSU, Missouri and Florida have also reportedly targeted Barrow in the transfer portal. Miami has added 13 players in the transfer during or since the 2023 campaign. The program currently boasts the No. 19 spot in On3’s Transfer Portal Team Rankings.

Miami likely out of the hunt for MSU DL Derrick Harmon

With Harmon’s decision to opt out of the visit, it seems unlikely Miami will land the Barrow’s fellow DL standout. Harmon spent three seasons with the Spartans, amassing 28 career appearances and 15 starts.

In three seasons at MSU, Harmon racked up 71 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and two pass breakups. Prior to enrolling at Michigan State, Derrick Harmon was a three-star prospect and the No. 987 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

He also checked in as the No. 78 defensive lineman in the class and the No. 30 overall player in the state of Michigan, hailing from Detroit (MI) Loyola.
