Four-Star DL Artavius Jones commits to Miami

Four-star defensive lineman Artavius Jones of Blountstown (FL) High announced his commitment to Miami Friday afternoon.
The 6-foot-4, 310 pounder chose the Hurricanes over UCF, Oregon, and Tennessee.
Jones on why he chose Miami
“Just the people all around,” Jones said. “They made me feel like I was the number one priority, and the people are awesome. It feels like home, and since some of my family is from Miami, it was a plus! Also, they showed that they were genuine people and that they will take care of me and my family! And that they will help me get to where I wanna get, and they have multiple people that have played in the league and some were trench guys.’
Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him
“I love everyone the same but Coach Stroud is the guy. He did powerlifting in his days and I do also and he is just a good guy. I feel like I’m close with everyone, that’s just me to be honest!”
Jones ranks as the No. 166 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 21 defensive lineman and the No. 24 player in the state of Florida.
