Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa reaffirmed his commitment to Miami on Friday. He is the third Hurricanes pledge to do so today, following Miami (Fla.) Miami Palmetto four-star wide receiver Robby Washington and Ocala (Fla.) Trinity Catholic three-star offensive tackle Tommy Kinsler.

Mauigoa is the No. 5 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 2 player in Florida.

“BLOCK THE NOISE!!!” Mauigoa wrote in a statement published to social media. “MIAMI IS HOME!!! I GOT LOVE 4 COACH (Mario Cristobal) and my future CANES! I will not be attending FLORIDA this weekend. I’m ALL IN on U.”

This news comes after Pittsburg (Calif.) four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada flipped from Miami to Florida last night. Both Mauigoa and Kinsler shared that they will not be attending the Gators’ game against South Carolina this weekend in their messages.

Right now, Miami’s 2023 recruiting class is No. 9 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the ACC. It is led by Lakeland (Fla.) Five-Star Plus+ cornerback Cormani McClain, the No. 2 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

A 6-foot-5, 327-pound prospect, Mauigoa has an On3 NIL Valuation of $307K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Francis Mauigoa On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Francis Mauigoa:

“Wide-bodied, nimble mover who is excelling in his first season as a full-time offensive lineman. Works at right tackle for IMG, but likely projects on the interior due to his arm length and build. Played very well against a national schedule and some top pass rushers as a junior. Uses his natural strength to create a big push in the run game. Plays with a wide base and has considerable pop in his hands. Has mauling qualities as a drive blocker and is athletic enough to get to the second level with ease. Though he doesn’t project as an offensive tackle long-term, showed some very encouraging skills in pass protection.”
