New Iberia (La.) Westgate four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine committed to the in-state LSU Tigers on Jan. 27, adding to Brian Kelly’s top-ranked 2025 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder is on another campus following the end of the February dead period, however. Antoine is in Coral Gables taking in the first spring practice of the year for Miami:

Courtesy of Miami defensive coordinator and Louisiana native Lance Guidry, the Canes were Antoine’s first offer, doing so on Jan. 1, 2023. Mario Cristobal and Co. made Antoine’s top eight schools at the end of December, but were never able to pick up momentum in his recruitment like LSU did.

“I wanted to stay home and bring DBU back, I know I’ll be developed for the next level and I know LSU will provide that for me,” Antoine told On3 upon his pledge to the Tigers.

However, Antoine opted to take in things at the ACC program’s practice facility on Monday, his first visit to Miami. He has also been playing 7-on-7 with the South Florida Express ahead of his senior season of high school football.

“I think I would be a great fit at Miami,” Antoine told CaneSport in January ahead of his commitment. “I’ve built great relationships with them, and I think Miami is one of my top schools. They’re really recruiting me.”

Antoine is the No. 51 overall prospect and No. 7 CB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Louisiana.

Miami eyeing big 2025 recruiting class

It’s still early in the 2025 cycle, but Miami has just four commits in its current recruiting class, as of March 4. That group of pledges includes three four-stars, however.

Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez headlines the quartet as a top-150 prospect and the No. 17 LB in the On3 Industry Ranking. He committed to the Hurricanes on Dec. 16.

Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton four-star quarterback Luke Nickel was a riser in Monday’s updated 2025 On300 and is now is a top-25 signal-caller in the Industry Rankings. On3 ranks him as the No. 152 recruit, overall.

Boynton Beach (Fla.) Palm Beach Central four-star wide receiver Waden Charles and Quincy (Fla.) Gadsden County three-star offensive tackle Lamar Williams round out the class, which currently ranks No. 15 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
